Pioneering Summer Camp Leads to Growth

Daily recreation time

Music was a part of each day

Campers pan for gold!
“I am thankful for the opportunity to have played a part in launching Brookstone’s first annual summer camp. During the course of the six weeks, I witnessed partnerships being made, tremendous growth in our counselors, and maturing growth in young children. It was a privilege to serve the Lord in this way and to watch children grow academically, socially, and spiritually through His grace.” -- Kristy Davis, Director of Brookstone Summer Learning and Adventure Camp

Daily Bible lessons
“From students and student wives to staffers and graduates…. Reformed Theological Seminary was blessed to run a week-long camp for Brookstone School in June. This was a wonderful opportunity for RTS students to experience an urban setting and learn how to lead a well organized, gospel-centered camp.” - Tari Williamson, Dean of Women, Reformed Theological Seminary

‘Round the World Through Music

Learning rhythm

Campers decorated their own Chinese fans.

Everyone learned to play handbells.
“Music camp at Brookstone was an awesome experience!  We travelled 'round the world through singing, dancing, and crafts, each day focusing on a different country.  The week we spent with the children of Brookstone School was fun and incredibly rewarding!” -- Debbie Shut, Volunteer, Davidson United Methodist Church

Music Campers open their piggy banks for Brookstone

Campers at the Davidson Methodist Music Camp broke open their piggy banks this summer to share their offerings with Brookstone School.

Gratitude from our Brookstone campers

Each morning during music camp the children had the opportunity to give an offering. One morning, one of the young ushers delivered a very heavy offering plate overflowing with coins and announced, "Man, this is heavy! Some kid emptied his entire piggy bank into the plate!"

These Music and Bible School campers raised almost $800 for Brookstone School -- all out of their piggy banks.
